Not Driving Made Me Notice More.

A couple of days ago, I experienced my own city in a completely different way. Usually, I’m the one behind the wheel, focused on traffic, signals, and reaching on time. But this time, my cousin was visiting and took over the driver’s seat, leaving me in the back, relaxed and just observing.

And honestly, it felt new.

I noticed things I usually miss, the way sunlight was falling on buildings, the quiet movement of trees, small shops I’ve passed countless times without a glance. The city felt slower, almost like it was introducing itself again.

There was no rush, no pressure to navigate, just the simple joy of watching everything pass by. It made the same roads feel unfamiliar in a good way.

It wasn’t just a drive, it felt like a pause. A small shift, but enough to make me see that sometimes, the place doesn’t change, only the way we look at it does.

The back seat of a car is always fun, and for you, it seemed like a new adventure.
