Respecting Food Choices.

My Authentic Lived Experience #1
A simple act of respect can save relationships.
Category – Subcategory:
Relationships – Boundaries & Respect
Situation: I used to comment on other people’s food habits, sometimes suggesting they stop eating certain things. But I realized that many of these foods were deeply tied to their childhood, family traditions, and the love of their mothers or grandmothers.
Emotion: Initially, I felt frustrated when they didn’t listen to my suggestions.
Action: I made a conscious habit of not commenting on anyone’s food—what they eat, how they eat, or their taste—because it is none of my business.
Outcome: This shift removed unnecessary tension. People continued enjoying their food without feeling judged, and I felt lighter by not interfering.
Outcome Type: Resolved
Final Emotion: Peaceful and respectful, with a sense of freedom from wasted effort.
Takeaway / Insight: Food is deeply personal and often rooted in love and tradition. Commenting on it can feel like disrespecting someone’s family. By choosing silence, I honor both their choices and my own boundaries.

Food is a vide term .Well said.
