The Library Can Teach You What College Cannot.
I read a quote by Ray Bradbury in the newspaper today: “I spent three days a week for 10 years educating myself in the public library, and it’s better than college.” It immediately made complete sense to me.
I have always believed that education is not limited to classrooms, degrees, or institutions. When education has increasingly become a business and moral values seem to have taken a back seat, self-education feels even more meaningful. Knowledge can come from books, experiences, observation, conversations, and curiosity.
What surprised me most was that I have often told people about this very concept, even though I had never read Bradbury’s quote before. Today, his words simply put my belief into perspective.
