For months, I struggled with a problem that seemed trivial but drove me absolutely crazy. Every monsoon season, whenever I drove my car, my windscreen would fog up completely. No matter what I tried—wiping it down, cracking open the windows, blasting the fan—I couldn’t keep the fog away. It was dangerous, frustrating, and honestly, it made me dread getting behind the wheel.

I suffered through countless drives like this, feeling defeated each time.

Then, a couple of days ago, I finally did what I should have done long ago: I used my common sense. I turned on the heater. Just like that, the fog vanished.

I couldn’t believe how simple the solution was. I felt equal parts relieved, amused, and a little embarrassed. How could I overlook something so basic for so long?

This experience taught me that sometimes, the simplest solutions are right in front of us—but getting there can take a surprising amount of suffering. It also reminded me that using common sense is sometimes… quite uncommon!

Now, every drive feels lighter, and I’m genuinely happy to be back on the road with a clear view.
